“HELP!!!!!!!!! A WITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Emily found a box for the girl to sit down on. “Hi, I'm Emily!” Inside, Emily was wondering if this was the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz, and trembling a bit. But she thought it would be ill form to be rude to guests, and that perhaps there were other, nicer people in the world who were green.
Piper, however, was still making a scene, yet seemed frozen in place and unable to run away. “Okay, let's get this over with. I'm Elphaba Thropp. No, I'm not seasick. Yes, I've always been green. And no, I didn't eat grass as a child!” Elphaba sighed. “I had hoped this wouldn't happen here. Yet... you're reacting just like my old friend Galinda...” she added almost to herself.
“So what is your theory?” Cate asked. “Well,” began Sam.
...But she was interrupted by a frantic Piper. “There's like, an ugly green thing in our room, and... hey Cate, can I borrow your skates and go skating?” Cate and Sam looked at her, confused. “No...” said Cate, “these are my competition skates. I guess you can borrow my practice ones when we get home.”
“Why did you leave them at home! How am I supposed to distract myself from that ugly artichoke thing?! Something is wrong. I didn't get my way... I have to go lie down...”
“ELPHIE!!!!!!! What are you doing here? I thought Hope said you were a teddy bear...?”
“Who is that?” Cate asked. “I'm Elphaba,” said Elphaba. “I'm beautifully tragic. And your refugee.”
“I'm so excited you're here!” Sam exclaimed again. “You're going to love it here. Kailey is really into animal rights as well, I'll have to introduce you two...”
Sam trailed off. “Oh, no. Hope. What are we going to do about her? She's going to be positively steamed at Lindsay for thinking this up without consulting her.”
Bonus pic of the girls with Elplhie from when I was trying to take a picture holding my breath... I'm still shaky!
