World Book Day Photos

Christ Church First School took part in celebrating World Book Day on March 6th. It was a themed day and the children were vertically grouped and took part in a series of activities organised by the teachers including Performance Poetry, making Gingerbread Men, Mr Men storyboard and World Book Day quizzes.

Operation Xmas Child Boxes

Christ Church First School collected 109 Shoe Boxes packed full of goodies. They are now off on their travels to Romania in time for Xmas. Thank You to parents for all of their support throughout the appeal.

Poland Visit

Mr Hindhaugh embarked on a 3 day 2 night trip to Poland. The aim of the visit was a preparatory visit to formulate tasks and activities that the children will begin to take part in from September 2008. The project is for 2 years and will consist of schools from 5 countries across Europe including England, Poland, Romania, Turkey and France.

Kerygma Bus

During our Light Themed Week, we were lucky to have a visit from the Kerygma Bus. The staff were excellent and discussed with the children all about the Christmas Story, Christingle and the meaning of Christmas. The children had a great time exploring the bus, with onboard Plasma TV, and puppet show.

CCFS Skipping Day

CCFS took part in a sponsored skip to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and school fund. In total, the children performed 32,597 skips in their time. Year 3, as a class, completed the most individual skips skipping 8744 in 30 minutes. Very well done to all who took part and raised money for a great cause.

Year 3

As part of their current topic on the Romans, Year 3 spent a day at the Potteries Museum in Hanley. It was a fantastic day and the children were able to learn so much more about life as a Roman soldier and also the different foods that the Romans ate.
