the famous Hammurabi-stele from Susa, 1800 B.C. Unfortunetly the real one was transported to the Louvre, Paris after French archaeologists found it in 1901. Originally the stele is from a temple in Baylon. It was moved in 1160 B.C. to Susa by Shutruk Nahhunte an Elamite king during the conquest of Babylon. On the top Hammurabi is worshiping the god of the sun, Shamash. Thre text in Arcadic cuneiform tells about the social relations and the rule.

This is the first and oldest historical man found partially intact on Earth. He was found in a salt mine near Zanjan, Northwest Iran, and is estimated to belong to at least 1700 years ago, Sasanian Period. With him a good collection of different items and objects were found including his entire clothings. The Saltman is now kept and displayed in the Iranian National Museum. The Saltman has a long and bushy beard and hair and is wearing a gold ear pendilum. DNA tests has shown that he has been 37 at the time of death.
we had a lot of fun because there is a sign in front of the building to make clear it is forbidden to make pictures. Maybe this is a governmental building. We liked the architecture, so I made a picture.
another nice building somewhere in this area.

Life is beautiful. Rosa wrote this text. really Iranians are poets and despite all the problems (government, old traditions) they enjoy life and try to make the best of it instead of becoming sad.

the European style (especially Louis XIV en XV was popular) The shah was very rich and spend a lot of money, while in some villages at that time there was no water. Still some people want back to this time, cause it was better than now with the Islamic Republic Government and those mullahs.
Scarface-room (Henk) The shah and his wife Farah Dibah liked to give expensive parties for European and American rich people.
As you see, making pictures of prophets was and is in Shi'a Islam not that problematic as in Sunni-Islam.
