Grand Canyon Trip

These are the photos from the actual park...there are a few albums from the trip that I am separating out. The kids had a great time...you definitely feel like ants who discovered a crack in the sidewalk ;) Oh, and Brea was sick so I didn't get many smiles from her :( ENJOY!

Mesa Arizona Temple

We stopped at the temple on the way to Toni's home. It was very beautiful and my favorite part was the orange and grapefruit trees...I admit I was tempted to pick some ;)

Firefighter's Museum with Toni

This was a museum in Arizona...they had many different types of fire engines through the ages...they also had a memorial for all the firefighters who have died in service throughout the years. They had a special memorial for all the men and women who died in 911. I didn't know this but almost 350 were lost in that tragedy. At the end there was a place for the kids to dress up and pretend. They even had a model of a house with fire hazards and you had to find the fire hazard in every room. It was very interesting!

Monument Valley

We took a detour through Monument Valley, Utah for a more scenic drive. All the rock formations were amazing...it was worth the extra hour in the car :)

Roosevelt and the surrounding area

These were pictures we took of where Chris grew up on a lake in Arizona. The water line is much higher than it used to be...the trees you see in the pictures were just above where their house used to be. There is a rest stop there now with restrooms and you can walk right up to the lake. The bridge was built by a company that Chris' mother (Rue) worked for. The dam was also rebuilt after they left the area and moved to southern CO. I don't know if many of you know, but Chris' parents lost a 4th son (stillborn), and so we visited his gravesite and took pictures for his parents. Chris wanted to show us where he grew up since it was on the way to New Mexico :)

Belen, New Mexico

We stopped in Belen, New Mexico on our way back to Colorado to see some of Chris' aunts and uncles and grandmother from the area. His Aunt Maragrete has some horses that the kids took turns on. They really enjoyed it and Caylee was asking for one before we left :) Chris led some of them around on the horse...the other man leading them is Chris' cousin, Billy. The horse was named Borrego, which is the Spanish word for sheep. I can't remember why they named him that but he was very gentle. Brea was trying to attack her daddy's head, so that's what those pictures were about.

Aiden's First Pinewood Derby

This album contains a few pictures of Aiden with his first Pinewood Derby car which he named, "The Flaming Eagle." He didn't make it to the finals, but he designed his car, sanded it after Chris cut it out, painted it, and put some stickers on it. He had so much fun :) He also won two ribbons for "Best use of color," and "Best driver in the car."

Brea Kate Snell

Visit from Dean

A friend from Georgia came to visit us for a few days. We celebrated his birthday, played a lot of games, watched movies, and ate good food :) In the end he was another person for the kids to attack!

Storm

Hey guys, this was our house in the wake of the storm that brought the tornadoes to our area. I have never seen any hail storm like it. It lasted for 10-12 minutes and ended with just smaller than softball size hail. It was a little scary as the noise was defeaning while the hail hit our windows.

Butterfly Pavilion

Pictures of kids at the Butterfly Pavilion. They got to hold a spider named Rosie, plant flowers to take home, and see bugs from all over the world. The actual butterfly enclosure was a small mock rainforest that was VERY hot and humid. You could only stand it for so long, but it was beautiful! It was a lot of fun.
