16. Argentina, Iguazu Falls

After an interesting adventure getting here involving the side of a highway and a 19 year old highway policeman, we arrived in Puerto Igauzu. We spent the whole day at the falls, yes the whole day, we were the first in and got the last train out.

15. Uruguay, Montevideo & Salto

While in Colonia we missed our bus heading north to Salto, so our only option was to head south to Montevideo or stay another night in Colonia. What a pleasent surprise Montevideo was. Expectations weren't high, especially for Mandy who was there 5 years ago and had her camera stolen! We had a great time, we met a French couple on the bus and we ended up going out with them as they were meeting a local friend, Agustine. Our time in Montevideo was spent wandering the streets and plazas and eating and drinking. We had a great time. Then chilled in the thermal baths in Salto, about 8 hours north of Montevideo, gold.

14. Uruguay, Colonia

2 nights spent in Colonia. Romantic little town located beside the worlds widest river, Rio del Plata, which basically felt like a sea. It was bloody cold, but we loved it, biking along the waterfront and breaking into the bull ring to drink mate in the sun and a picnic on the beach, good times.

13. Argentina, Bariloche

Mandy and I planned to ive in Bariloche for the snowboard season. But a lack of work and snow and the presence of "the swine flu" meant there wasn't any work. So the photos here are of our 5 week stay in Bariloche where we stayed with an Argentinian host family and I studied Spanish. We made the most of our time there, we visited the nearby hippy town of El Bolson, did walks in the amazing landscapes, went snowboarding etc. A beautiful part of the world.

12. Argentina, Buenos Aires

6 days spent in Buenos Aires, loved the city. Was great to be just another faces lost in the bustling streets. A very European feel to the city. Days were spent cruising the sites and drinking coffe in the side walk cafes, attending a Tango show, and walking the manicured lanes of the Cemetery Recoleta.

11. New Zealand stopover

12 day stopover in New Zealand onroute to Argentina. Hang out in Auckland, catching up with friends and family and seeing the Auckland sights. Then it was onto Nelson for more of the same, beautiful kiwi landscapes.

10. Northern Thailand

12 days of backpacking around with good friends Jeff and Ji in Northern Thailand. We spent 3 days in Chaing Mai and then rented a jeep for 5 days of exploring the north west of Thailand, waterfalls, hotsprings and hill tribes. Then it was back to Chaing Mai for a further 3 days of temples, and socialising.

09. Thailand, Koh Phangan

5 day trip around Koh Phangan with Codie, Puke, Ji and Jeff. We rented a pimped out 4x4 and explored the whole island, but based ourselves at Haad Yao in the flash high life bungalows. Great times.

07. Malaysia, Penang

Our visa run to Penang to get our 60 day Thailand visa. Spent 3 nights in a dodgy guest house in Georgetown. Experimented with the food, hired a scooter and drove around the island, visited the war museum and chilled out up in the north for a sunset beer on the beach.

06. Thailand, Tonsai, Railey,Koh Jum

5 days spent on the Islands around Krabi. One night at the climbing mecca of Tonsai which neighbours stunning RAiley beach with its Krabi styled limestone cliffs towering over it. Then it was onto Koh Jum. Island living at it's best, still relatively untouched by the ugly arm of tourism, smiling locals, empty beaches, no blaring music, just the sound of the waves, perfect.
