This was the scene near the Argentia ferry terminal. So pretty!
We took a short break on the beach.
Somewhere in Conception Bay
Me at the beach
Another break at a duck pond. The ducks kept diving headfirst and sticking their bottoms in the air.
Pete Pan
This is one of seven replicas from around the world

Going to Fogo on the ferry for the weekend. Fogo is a small island northeast of Gander. Dwayne's family has a summer home there. They also have a lot of relatives that live there too.
At the Fogo ferry - I took the picture because the old style phone.
pulling into Fogo
ready to dock
It was a lovely place..just how you'd probably imagine NF.
Barr'd Islands is the community on Fogo Island where we were staying.
Beautiful
It was Uncle Owen's birthday on the weekend so they celebrated by getting the whole family together to play games. This was horse racing...
You wound the string around to pull your horse towards you. First on over the line wins of course! That's Dwayne in red and Uncle Owen to his left.
Keep on Truckin' Owen!
Dwayne won that heat so he got a jello shooter!
Here are the horses up close.
Dwayne!
This is Josie
Go Tanya Go! I'm on the far left.
Next game - T-ball blindfolded!
Last game - use a coat hanger to push a barrel ring. Much harder than it looks!
Dwayne & Angel
Hope this doesn't come across as disrespectful but I was surprised that they had to have a sign like this at the graveyard.
pretty Fogo sunset
Brimstone - a short hike we did.
lovely views from the top.
Dwayne
Incidently, Fogo is one of the four corners of the FLAT earth. Are you kidding?
I thought it was funny they included Fort McMurry - didn't really fit in with the rest of the cities but Dwayne told me the Fort McMurray is the biggest city in NF hahaha! Lots of Newfoundlanders there.
Dwayne capturing the view
car wash in Fogo
pretty colours in fogo
Dwayne got to drive the ferry leaving Fogo
And so did I!! It was fun...
From Signal Hill
Boat coming into the narrows of St John's
Scene from Signal Hill - pretty!
Cape Spear from Signal Hill
This is a battery from WWII I think
On the outskirts of St John's - this neighborhood has an outport feel right in the city.
To leave Signal Hill you have to go across this lady's deck to leave the path. She was sitting out on the deck when we went by.
signal hill from a distance
Dwayne squishes Signal hill with is bare hands!!
These are called Jelly Bean houses. They're found in downtown St John's.
St John's has a rule that you can't have a house the same colour as your neighor so they maintain this fun look.
We went for a boat ride on Dwayne's family boat.
A lovely sunset from the boat
There was an oil rig in the harbour
You can't really tell but I'm driving the boat right now.
more sunset
Sunset on the shore after the boat ride. yeah I got a thing for sunsets.
Having a beer at an Irish pub on George St. Getting ready to be screeched in.
Dwayne having a kilkenny
this old guy is at the bars every night dancing up a storm. Speaking of storms, he stormed off when a girl came up to dance with him. This was his time to shine and he didn't want to share the limelight.
This was the guy who screeched me in
yuck - I'm not a fan of rum.
I'm an honorary Newfoundlander!!
