It is not SUPPOSED to subtract anything from the image other than distortion and noise. That noted, I can't say for SURE whether NON-noise image is compromised via filter's "AI" heuristic algorithm? Compare pre- and post and see which one you prefer. Some changes are VERY subtle.Your pref. choice may very PER image.
Note: I let NeatImage's Auto-Profile feature handle most of the filtering "decisions."
