Driving up Rt. 1 to York, Maine where we lived in 1981
The tide is almost in. There is a huge difference between high and low tide here.
A drive-by picture of an Ace Hardware store.
The Old Gaol (Jail) in York.
Our old house. Picture taken from across the street. It's a bit overgrown.
Fishing boat off Long Sands Beach, 3 miles from where we used to live.
Maine has a rocky coastline.
Cape Neddick or commonly known as Nubble Light. We called it “our” lighthouse.
It's now automatic, but when we lived here in 1981 it was lived in and the family loaded their groceries, etc. into that white basket on the left and pullied it across. Then they used a little motorboat to get themselved back and forth. Their toddler rode his tricycle in the enclosed hallway between the lighthouse and house.
They should rent it out!
Tour boat.
The birds like the warm rocks.
Blackie had a great time. And he walked through every puddle.
A nice lady took a picture of us.
These are lobster buoys.
They're colorful and mark lobster pots at sea.
Trying to catch a fish. We're at the parking lot of Nubble Light.
We love Maine's rocky coast.
I walked behind this bush and found someone had planted this mum and added a small pumpkin! We're still at Nubble Light.
Short Sands Beach at York Beach. We'd come here (in 1981) to feel like we were on an instant vacation.
Blackie didn't know what he was getting in to. The waves knocked him down several times, but he just got back up again.
All the pain I went through with the two knee replacement surgeries was worth it for the fun I had today. This was great!
We're about to get wet! Blackie and I had a ball!
I'm not sure who had more fun, but I appreciated it the most. I certainly didn't want to leave.
