Barcelona

My last big trip in Spain was to Barcelona. I definitely saved some of the best for last. It is an incredibly eclectic city with lots going on. I had a great time exploring and taking lots of photos, of course.

Strasbourg, France

My next stop after Munich (my second flight was canceled so I gave up and decided to just depend on trains) was Strasbourg in the NE of France to visit Holly. It was an absolutely incredible trip and I am sad I only stayed two days. I loved Strasbourg. It is a very quaint and walkable city with German flair (look at the houses). It is also home to the most awe-inspiring, terrifying and incredible cathedral that is the height of Gothic architecture. Photos hardly capture how incredible it is. Holly's host family was amazing and it was so nice to see Holly again so soon.

Munich, Germany

Once Eyjafjallajokull volcano decided to blow I was not going to get back to Alicante very quickly. So I decided to visit Tyson in Munich for a bit-- he was kind of enough to offer me a place to stay. What an incredible city! It was so clean and everyone rode bikes everywhere. I loved my time there and would like to go back.

Austria

I was lucky enough to finally make it to Austria to visit Alena (my old host sister) before her 16th birthday. It was an absolutely beautiful place. She lives in a tiny village outside of Innsbruck and I enjoyed the greenery and the peace before the Volcano/travel craziness began.

Portugal

The morning after coming back from Madrid I met up with Holly and Maggie in Porto, Portugal then headed down to Lisboa where we spent a few glorious days in the city as well as in the paradise that is Sintra and the wonderful beach Cascais before heading back up for an afternoon in Porto.

All Around Alicante

Lots of photos from around Alicante, as well as from Tyson's visit! His time in Alicante included climbing up to the castle again, so there are now more photos, but it's so gorgeous I just couldn't help it!
