I love this place. been here camping with the kids
Such a gorgeous, warm Saturday. Been swimming twice already
These people are headed out to view the islands from a kayak
One lonely kayaker
My favorite spot at Five Islands Park
Been a few years since I've been here
The race is a fund-raiser to move this, as the camp park is abandoned and the tide keeps eating away at the cliffs
My little foray into the park left my car at the mercy of the tides
Five Islands campground from across the bay
Time to move the car, what?
Aw, isn't that cute?
You tell me I'm going to run thru that hole tomorrow? Far out!
Tide's going out, sun's going down. A great day!
Moose Island. Brent, running the 5km, will stop there
I love this camera
This picture does not do the scene justice
I've never been here at low tide (the same low tide we'll be running in tomorrow)
Sundown 'pop'
Would love to hike up this. Maybe not tonite
All the cliffs are red except this little point. See the crossover
Race day! The crowd is gathering and so is the fog, the only element that can stop this race. Yikes!

Dick Lemon gives us the details and go-ahead
The runners accumulate on the beach
Getting antsy
We're off!
How did this sign get here? And when?
The start of the volunteer pictures, once I had a handle on conditions and was pretty sure I could make the cut-off time
The volunteers were all so happy
Quite a few had flags
They all gave me a smile
Words of encouragement
The girl on the left has Bay of Fundy war paint
Moose Island. Your legs get a chance to clear off
Dry bags for the 5km crowd
More volunteer pics
It was such a nice day
The 5km finish line
We breezed by that. Got an island to run to and thru
How beautiful is that?
Runners all strung out by now
Life-jacket for stragglers?
This was fun running, nice firm sand and little water
This guy was very helpful with the hidden rocks
The volunteers made this race even more fun
They took pictures of us..., we took pictures of them...
Everyone in a great mood
Passing the 10 km finish line for the first time
Ah, the hole
And me about to run thru
This guy was in the middle of nowhere (of course, so were we)
The volunteer with the best job (Val Reynolds, I think)
What a great place to be
She took a picture of me as well
Hey, I'll make a postcard with this one
We're about to hit the washboard sand-dunes. Not funny
This stuff was brutal. No place to hide or get around.
You couldn't walk them, jump them. It was a slog
Pinnacle Island
Me trying to be a photographer
Some rocks, in case you hadn't tripped yet
The highest placed volunteer
Camera died at Pinnacle, so I had to get buddy's picture at the Finish Line
The view after the race cut-off time. No place to be running now.
Alex at the Finish
Number One volunteer. We should all have her attitude.
The Boat Brigade comes to get us
We were the last 'croo to get off and the water was starting to come over our nice, dry landing spot
We're running out of room and time here
Hey! I actually got off on the second-last boat. Man, it just screamed across the bay. Would have paid for a ride. What a hoot!
A quick look back
Our driver was having fun as well
This puppy hasn't moved yet this season
We were just out there, 1/2 tide ago. So far out!
