The photo by Tanya Sakolsky shows Kumasi, 61, who joined the Slausons at 10, as he appeared in the film, "CripsandBloods: Made In America." While he said he still considers himself a Slauson, he has not been active in the gang since 1967. Of all the people speaking in this film, it was Kumasi's words that penetrated the most. I can only hope his prophetic-sounding words, based upon a history he personally witnessed, will not continue to unfold because, as he noted, there is a graduated scale of even more violence associated with this disenfranchisement. He also speaks with his deeds as a consultant and community activist. The photo is part of the movie's media packet. When I posted this on one of my other blogs, خودتو رایگان, I received many hits from Los Angeles and its suburbs, so I am publishing it on this blog, which also incorporates themes other than travel.

Charles-Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte was the first President of the French Republic and the last monarch of France. Bahá'u'lláh wrote him two tablets, I believe, warning him of his imminent downfall, but also much more than that. It is a very powerful tablet. He lost his empire rather quickly, and he died in exile in England. This photo is from Wikipedia, public domain.
