Arriving at the Slide Mine Clean-up Site
The slope above the Clean-up.
What appears to be a talus slope is actually mine waste rock capped with riprap. It is hard to tell how steep this slope is from the picture. For reference you can see a hooded person near the center of the photo.

Mine wastes remain exposed at the bottom of the riprap because it was too steep to consolidate and cap them.
