Chambord was built to be a hunting residence for one of the kings, who only used it for about 45 days ever...years later it would sit not being used & is now being restored...

There are two seperate staircases which twist upwards from left to right wrapping around the center I am looking up here in this picture, you can see eachother through the open wall, but you will never be able to touch eachother (if that makes sense)

This is the only spring in england that gives hot water...it was used by the romans, then covered by time, then the hotspring was rediscoverd by the anglo-saxons & used (they never knew what lie below the ground), then eventually the roman bath was re-discovered & excavated around 1900
