"Grand European Cruise" Day 5. Ascheffenburg to Wertheim.
The comments with these pictures refer to a river cruse that was run by UK travel company ‘TRAVELSCOPE’ who ceased trading as of 21st December 2007, leaving some 40,000 people without their holidays. Staff from Travelscope have set up new company called "Phoenix Holidays" and are offering similar types of holidays.
References to the ship “MPS ARLENE” are still likely to apply although it is not known if she will be called this in the future, as her Dutch owners ran into financial difficulties in August 2007. Phoenix Holidays are in fact using the Arlene for many of their river cruises.
In my opinion the Arlene is only a 1 star ship, used for budget river cruises, is 23 years old, as of 2009 and needs a major refit.
