Stow Symphony Orchestra project

Judith Mikes is the SSO’s education coordinator, a player in the orchestra and a primary school music teacher. Using the FMIA Tool Kit as a springboard, Ms. Mikes created a three-session series of hour-long classes for her 3rd and 4th grade classes.

Instructor Otto Monroy works with students of the Logos Academy

Instructor Otto Monroy works with students of the Logos Academy, educational partner of the York Symphony Orchestra. Students listening to Chasing Light and read Joseph Schwantner's poetry, then wrote their own poems, composed music based on their poetry, and then performed and recorded the pieces.
