A possible compromise in the form of conditional planning permission (a "Grampian condition"), allowing the wind farm to go ahead only if the issue of radar interference was resolved, was rejected under advice from council planning officers. This setback comes despite the continued development of wind technology and a new memorandum of understanding between the MoD, the wind industry, and Department of Energy and Climate Change.
