Elizabeth I
THE DRESSING OF ELIZABETH. Made for Tamworth Castle, Staffordshire. This outfit was based on the picture of Elizabeth Buxton (nee kemp) in Norwich museum painted by Robert Peake.(1588-90) There was only an hour to dress Kirsty and do this shoot, so there are no jewels in the hair and the Ruff is slightly askew. Sorry! Still, Kirsty looks a picture. The outfit is now on permanent display in the Castle

Tudor Ladies gown (Elizabethan)
Built on a strict budget, this gown is based on a 1580-1590 gown in the Nurnberg Museum. The front panel and sleeves of the Kirtle are of silk taffeta. A corded diamond pattern of linen has been applied and overlaid on this are 2,800 pearls and black bugle beads. The Kirtle sleeves are detachable. It is fully lined and has a heavy guard of linen at the hem. The outer velvet gown has decorated 'guards' of black satin couched with black silk cord. The same decoration is applied over the shoulders and down the back, sleeves and collar. The sleeves are possibly one of the most complicated patterns as it contains a heavy padded roll at the head and over this a boned skeletal structure which gives the shape. The outer velvet is made up of many shaped panels, following the form given by the structure beneath. Made in 2009

Captain Arthur Phillip (1814)
Outfit made for a museum in Sydney, Australia. Captain Arthur, (Later Admiral), was the first to settle the site now known as Sydney. This depicts the undress uniform for his last rank as at 1814 and he was to die within months of achieving this. The outfit has no epaulettes - they are to be fitted at the museum. The buttons are slightly out of date and the display is to fit a mannequin we have never seen! Ball Gown -The Dragon Dress
Made for the ball in Leipzig. This is not historically accurate, but has some nice touches. Pinking round the hem and on the stomacher and the ribbonwork around the edge - which took about 25m of organza ribbon."Think dragons", said Sophie - so Gini did. The gown has a 'let down' train not shown. www.chimera-costumes.co.uk

Fashion Show November 2009
The Fashion Show from The Original Re-enactors Market November 09.The Theme was "A Night at the Movies' but we tried to involve T.V as well! We do try to make it more than the normal catwalk production and add soundtrack, sketches, monologues, lighting (and all the rest!) We thank all those involved, who gave up there time and expertise to make what we hope was the best show ever.

Weddings
Our Wedding (2003)
Our Multi-period Wedding which took place at the oldest secular building in Yorkshire and was filmed as part of the Y.T.V's series "I Thee Wed". Guests could wear any costume from Ancient Greek to WWII. The Wedding Breakfast & Music followed a 'timeline' the first course being Roman, the next Saxon and so on, - 9 courses later ending in Victorian. The programmes were produced by BNT productions and 'fronted' by Susan Brookes & Brian McNerny. 20 or so of the 120 outfits worn on the day, were made here at Chimera. We only had 13 Weeks to organise everything! www.chimera-costumes.co.uk
