Outside of the cabin we stayed at
The cabin was great!
These are some pics from our 1st day of hiking across the balds. This is part of the Appalachian Trail
That is Roan Mnt. in the background

The views from on top of the bald are amazing
Loan brown Christmas tree
The climb was really steep on this part of the trail...
it was a struggle
we had to search for a place to grab hold of the rocks
He took a more difficult route
even the kids had to climb.
and if you are believing all this please call me because the bridge that you will see in the upcoming pics is for sale...really!
The largest dandellion we ever saw
Some of the flowers we saw
I was intrigued by the moths that were hanging out with us at our cabin...
They were beautiful
This guy was easily 4 inches long
Mile high swinging bridge at Grandfather Mnt.
Ok, so she had to work up the courage to look over the bridge. Note the less than patient people waiting behind her.
So we went to the caverns and saw...
Rocks!
rocks
more rocks...
and some blind fish
but mostly rocks
kids in rocks
another kid in rocks
yep
hmmm, yea, a rock
a wet rock...actually there were long technical names to these things but...
one last pic before the ride home!
