The Cast in Still-Shot Slow Motion
This is best view as a slide show. Then click pause and click the right arrow to view at your own speed. Also, reduce the slide show to half-screen or less for clearest viewing. This still frame collection was captured from a 500 fps video taken by physicist Dr. Grunde Lovoll. Lovoll is both caster and camerman, I believe. I captured this video from Jason Borger's site <www.jasonborger.com>. I warped the action down to 1 frame per second, then took med-rez still shots so that this could be viewed in a slide viewer. It's easier to tell determine specific points of the cast, such as RSP, counter flex start, rebound start, actual point of loop formation, follow-through, etc. At some point, I'll photoshop each frame and plot the movements of the rod and line, then animate the collection into a line drawing.
