Thanksgiving

After back to back traveling for the past few weeks, I am exhausted and just want to be a homebody and take it easy for the rest of my long weekend. This Thanksgiving was exactly what I asked for, something low key but still yummy! I made an edited Thanksgiving dinner for me and Ben, the only two that didn't have out of town plans and Judy stopped by for a bit. After dinner, we just hung out at Ben's and watched movies and ate dessert and relaxxxxxxxed!!! Felt absolutely great! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Nike Design Day

Nike had this awesome event called Design Day where all the designers got together at the Portland Art Museum. There were tons of different presentations and this amazing photographer from L.A. came to take pictures. The line was ridiculously long so I just pretended that I was an intern and joined in on their pictures. =) I've always wanted to be professionally shot!

The Nike Experience

Nike put together a trip for us to get chartered down to Eugene for the Olympic Trials!! It was so awesome, my first track and field event ever! So crazy to see such talented athletes compete for such a rare opportunity, it was really amazing to watch and super inspiring. Good times!!!!

Breanna, Eric and I went to a U-Pick farm and picked strawberries!!! Then checked out the 'beach' and watched some people kite board and sunbathe in the wind and cold. So different from what I'm used to a beach being...Fun times though!

Friday the 13th

Today was supposed to be a cursed day but it turned out to be a ton of fun. Bailed out of work early thanks to summer hours, got a pedicure with Judy, picked up Armie and meet up with Ruth and her boyfriend and walked around Alberta then ate at Lolo which was amazing, then met up with my roomie's friends and met Mikey and Judy @ Gotham Tavern, then headed over to Tube then Bar 15 and danced the night away and crawled back home at 3:30...=)

Hiking with Armie

Finally got to meet up with Armie! Took her to the gorge and to my favorite waterfall, Horsetail falls and man did it feel great to be out there. There were crazy thunderstorms and pouring rain the night before so the waterfalls were extra amazing all day! Loved it! And it wasn't even that muddy on the trails, =)

Checked out Portland's tiny Chinese garden, had lunch at Portland City Grill (finally!) and then went hiking at Multnomah Falls @ the Columbia Gorge which is always gorgeous. What a crazy weekend with the family but it was great to see them again! I enjoyed showing them my new home and I hope they had fun!

Family visit/Day 1/Bob's Red Mill/Rhododendron Garden/Marina Fish House

Right after picking them up from the airport, we went to Bob's Red Mill by request by my aunt and my mom for lunch and got lots of ground goodies, =). Then we went to the Rhododendron garden thanks to mommy's request and I'm so glad that we went! I got three succulents and a dwarf Japanese maple at their plant sale and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure I would've never discovered this place if it weren't for mom's passion for flowers, thanks mom! Then we had dinner at Marina Fish House on the waterfront which I must admit, could've been better!

for my actual birthday, we planned on doing a happy hour at the portland city grill which everyone has been telling me about but when we got there, it was packed and it's such a cool spot that i knew that no one was going to get up soon. it had a gorgeous view of the city (the best in town) but we were hungry and decided to leave for the "best" burgers in town at Rogues. We all grubbed on kobe beef burgers that yes, were delish, and i got way too tipsy off of a beer and four samplers. let's just say i repeated last year's events but felt the pain this time! but hey! no ninja vanish!

Checked out the NE side of Portland with Nathan today. This part was pretty different from everything else I've seen. Very hipster/bohemian with lots of great stores/restaurants/cafes on Alberta St. filled with a better mix of ethnicities. Lots more ethnic food, there was a good run of Mexican and soul food joints. Very cool.

Went over to my Aunt #2's house in the Mojave desert as usual because it's the best place to hang out, BBQ, and do whatever we want with fireworks. Last year we had some crazy illegal ones but this year was tame. Still fun though and really good to hang out with the family again!
