Hideout Performance Series
AUSTIN, TX – For her first public performance since her sold-out show at the Long Center’s Rollins Theater on October 25, 2008 Erin Ivey has chosen the intimate, underutilized stage at The Hideout Theatre. Local piano virtuoso Eddy Hobizal will also perform new original material, his first time doing so in over a year.
Ivey, who also plays jazz and swing standards in her side project Grand Hotel, is a sweetly sung folk pop singer/songwriter who has a knack for creating sweeping, emotional tunes full of class and harmonic staying power. Whether sitting with her guitar or at the front of a full band, Ivey commands the attention of the audience with a well-placed hook, a sincere address and the ownership of every note vibrating from her vocal chords. Having Hobizal share the bill with Ivey is a rare treat and an honor. His addition will only sweeten the pot. His classically trained fingers have worked with artists like Sara Hickman, Eliza Gilkyson, Slaid Cleaves and Shawn Colvin.
