This picture shows JUC's relation to the Old City. On the far right is the beginning of the city wall, in the center is the Dormition Abbey, and on the far right is JUC.

A local windmill. Not quite what I expected to find in the middle of Jerusalem. Apparently a European came in and put it in, wanting the people to be able to grind their own grain and be self-sustaining. Brilliant, except that their's hardly any wind here.
This is for Allison.

A few of us went to visit the Garden Tomb, long thought by some to be the site of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Archeologists now tell us that this is not at all possible, but the nice British people who run it continue to imply that, really, it could be. After all, it's outside the city walls, next to a hill, a tomb, it's empty...
“Golgatha”
The tomb. In the upper right hand corner you see a bit of a window. This is the “window of the soul,” allowing the soul to escape after the body's entombment.
A wider shot of the tomb.
A symbol on the inside of the tomb, added very late. “Jesus Christ, King of the Jews.”
Me in the tomb. Kind of a strange place for a picture, now that I think of it.

Me and the Dome of the Rock!
Two domes: in the foreground that of a Christian church, in the background the Muslim Dome of the Rock.
