Tyndale Select NLT in Ebony Calfskin Notice the grains are so visible and go in every direction. LOVE it!
Really nice leather box in which it comes in.
A sheet with plenty of stats and tips about the Bible.
The grain pattern is so incredibly visible.
Notice the grain pattern...every which way. LOVE it!
Notice the raised bands on the binding. Old school and classy.
Top of Bible.
Front cover.
Back cover...more pronounced grain than front. The calfskin is alive! ;)
Back corner of the calfskin...very 'pronounced' grain pattern.
Bottom right corner.
Top right corner.

Interior of back cover...so supple!
Does the 'yogo' bend with NO problem whatsoever.
Does the 'yogo' bend with NO problem whatsoever. Actually, I could have wrapped it even tighter than this photo shows. So flexible!
Fantastic lookin' leather!
Back cover curled.
Front cover curled.
The calfskin just droops to each side.
Balancing on ONE finger. It just droops. ;)
Bends so easily.
The calfskin is flying away!
Just under 7" wide.
Just over 7" wide.
About 9.5" long.
Just over 9.5" top to bottom.
About 1 & 1/4" thick (NOT very thick at all).
Just over 14" across when opened flat.
Two ribbons that are only about 2" inches long. UPDATE: I removed these 2 short ribbons and added 3 gorgeous red ribbons at 4" long. See link below: http://kowalker.com/2010/02/06/tyndale-nlt-in-calfskin-with-3-red-ribbons/
VERY light at 1.8 lbs.
Front page: 'Presented to..."
Plenty of pages in the front of the Bible for marriage, births, deaths, baptisms, family trees, special memories, etc
It says 'large print', however, the print is 9.8 (not something like a large print 11 or 12), yet highly readable.
2004 edition of NLT
I REALLY like this part of the Bible: Dictionary/Concordance Great Chapters of the Bible Great verses of the Bible to Memorize 365-Day Reading Plan. Great additions to a Bible!
The 'ghosting' (bleed-through) looks bad in this pic, however, VERY bad lighting when some of these pics were taken.
One of the 'sewn threads' along the gutter of one of the pages. From pages 14/15, every 64 pages you'll see a row of 5 threads in the gutter.
Very crisp and exceptional red for the words of Christ. A far cry from some other Bibles I've seen that have Christ's words that look like they're in PINK.
Black vs red. Both are crisp and easy on the eyes.
Black text.
Top view of Philippians 4.
NLT Dictionary and Concordance.
Great addition to this Bible.
8 very colorful maps.
Sewn thread in one of the map gutters.
Not so good lighting. Bleed-through in this Bible is VERY minimal.
Very short ribbons; they only extend 2 inches when at the bottom by the gutter. UPDATE: I removed these 2 short ribbons and added 3 gorgeous red ribbons at 4" long. See link below: http://kowalker.com/2010/02/06/tyndale-nlt-in-calfskin-with-3-red-ribbons/

NLT just hangin' over the edge of my counter.
Holding open the Word of God.
I'm 5'8" with small/average hands, so this Bible is not to large for carrying around. Fits well in my hand due to its slimness.
Fits well in my hand. Light and slim.
NLT just droopin' over the box it came in.
NLT in hand. VERY comfortable.
