The Empress Today

The Empress Theatre as it looks today, thanks to John Howland (Renovation Architect, ARC, Inc.), Hearn Construction (General Contractor), and Triad Communities (Developer). The theater is professional managed, maintained and operated by Vallejo Community Arts, Inc.--a nonprofit public benefit corporation.

Audience with the Empress Hardhard Tour & Fundraiser

A special cocktail party next door at the not-yet-opened Baci Ristorante followed by hard-hat tours of the still-under-construction Empress Theatre. Incidently, this was Empress General Manager Randy Bobst-McKay's first day on the job. Nothing like meeting the entire City of Vallejo at once!

Prior To Renovation

The Empress was renovated once before by the Elliott family and reopened after an extended period of disuse. The theater operated under the Elliotts through the 1980's until damage from the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake caused its closure. This is what the theater looked like prior to its current renovation in 2006-2008.
