Occupy the Landscape--A Walk for Human Rights from Woodstock to Catskill
On May 26, 2012, walkers trekked 22 miles starting in Woodstock, going through Saugerties, and up to economically depressed Catskill. There were never fewer than 20 walkers, and many of them made the entire 22 miles. At the end, supporters swelled the walk to 100, and everyone joined in a community dinner with food donated by area businesses. The walk raised money for a community arts organization and a local listener-supported radio station.
