Preah Khan was one of the temples I visited where nature has taken over. Trees growing over temple structures. Really awesome sights.
The walk down to the entrance of Preah Khan. Every temple has official Angkor officials in front to check your official Angkor pass. I had a 3 day pass. It cost me 40USD.
Hey naga what's up we meet again.
Every temple I visited was under restoration of some sort.
Passed this father and son busker team on the way in. They were taking a break. The kid is like what 5 and he plays percussion. He's actually holding his drum to sleep.
The walkway to the temple area.
Headless statue. The heads. They are so valuable to thieves.
Apsara.
Sometimes I explore a temple and it's in such a ruined state I feel like I'm really exploring.
This opening totally blocked off by fallen building stones.
Hey lion what's up you're everywhere.
Sort of the highlight of Preah Khan. The immense tree that's grown all over the temple structure. I helped a dude take a photo here cos he was setting his timer and running and trying to clamber up in time. He didn't make it.
Man, that is some wreckage.
The view from the other side of the wall.
This old lady was sitting in the temple talking to herself. Here she's offering her prayers. I said hi to her on the way in. She started chattering something.
At this point I encountered four singaporeans, probably a family. It was significant because they were the first (and only) Singaporeans I encountered in Cambodia - besides the two girls that came in on the same plane as me. They probably were more surprised cos I was wandering around alone. I thought of saying hi but they didn't seem to want to be disturbed. I plodded on.
Another area I found crushed by nature.
This whole 'chapel' was consumed by this tree.
A building structure at the corner of the temple area. This is unique because it's the only two storey structure in the Angkor area.
This faint marks were probably outline sketches of the carvings that would eventually cover the wall.
On my way back out the father and son were awake and jamming. The kid was pretty good.
