This is a shot taken directly outside of the big mall near Walter's parents house. The hill that you see is where some of the poorest of Lima live. Squatters, as they call them.

These are groups of porters that we passed on the train. They carry all the supplies for people who hike the Inca Trail.

After a 4 hour train ride, we finally arrived! Aguas Calientes (aka Macchu Picchu pueblo).
The pictures don't do it justice. The town is at the center of these steep mountains on all sides.

It was raining when we arrived.
He was so excited to be able to run around freely!

We suspect this was the alpha male of the group. He didn't move from his spot and didn't let anyone touch him, while all the other llamas were walking around grazing and allowed most people to pet them.

The rain stopped and it warmed up pretty quickly.
Little Suckers Contest
When we arrived back from Macchu Picchu in the afternoon, I was happy to find this event for the locals taking place!
A breastfeeding contest, to see which baby would nurse the longest. Put on by the ministry of health for nursing babies 0-2 years old.
The mayor gave a speech about the importance of breastfeeding and about how proud he was of these women for breastfeeding.
