Olla. Menudería "Tere"
Row of menuderías under the portales on Calle Codallos, across from Plaza San Francisco.
La dueña of Menudería Tere. She told me that it has been there about 40 years. Three generations.
Many people pass through these portales. How many have a bowl of menudo? If you don't like menudo, there's a good tamales stand at the corner of Calle Terán.
An old-time tienda de abarrotes under the portales.
The past disappears in a cluster of combis.

Pollos Adobados al Carbón "El Tejabán". Actually in Tzurumútaro, an outlying village of Pátzcuaro.
Chickens grilled over charcoal.
Abel, the owner and cook, usually works only Saturdays and Sundays. But sometimes they are there Wednesdays.
A platter of pollo asado al carbón "El Tejabán", served and eaten on site.
Cabaña de Tacos Pátzcuaro, in the front of the Mercado. (photo, February, 2004) The self service condiment bar distinguishes the Cabaña de Tacos from its neighbors. I never did learn what's that mound of mystery meat, left.
Mariscos a la Plaza Chica. There are several of these wagons around the Plaza. I don't eat at these, on hygienic principles. There is too much chance of contamination from the street.
Just the stuff for a "perker upper".
