La Güera is a growing business, especially at the new Campestre branch, with ample room for expansion. Besides the seafood, there are pollos asados, a car wash, a small kids' playground, and this new special events hall under construction.

Huauchinango Al Mojo de Ajo at Mariscos La Güera
Camarones en aguachile: fresh shrimps lightly marinated in lime juice and dusted with crushed chile on an attractive bed of salad.

A plato chico of Caldo de Camarón satisfies most who order it. There's also a larger version. I imagine that it's a bathtub of shrimp meant to be shared by friends.
Head covering, and sometimes surgical masks are the order of the day in the hygienically run kitchen.
Crisp crusted bread accompanies the Caldos. (Hola, Judith y Felipe; ¿que pasó con aquel pan excelente?)
Mojarra al Mojo de Ajo
Huauchinango Al Mojo de Ajo at Mariscos La Güera. The less expensive mojarra al mojo de ajo is available.
The classic: Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo. The Camarones al Ajillo is also recommended.
Camarones rellenos: plump shrimp stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon, and deep fried. Why not treat yourself once in a while?
Tostada de marlín. My favorite of the seafood tostadas, but the Ceviche de Calamar, the baby shrimp are good too. A bargain at $10 MXN per tostada.
Ensalada de Mariscos. Four different kinds of cold seafood, your choice. Usually includes raw oysters, but I skipped them.

Tomi (real name, Alejandro) el Payaso entertains at Mariscos La Güera in Pátzcuaro every Sunday afternoon. He is very entertaining, deftly making balloon toys to the delight of children and older folks.

Fruits, juices and toasts on buffet. The juice selection is unusual. Besides orange and papaya, we are offered carrot juice (r.), melon; and beet juice, although we opted out of the beet this time.
Conservas Caseras, granola deluxe and yoghurts. I was amazed and delighted, when I lifted the lids of these jam pots to find that they were home made. On the bottom, L, conserva de capulín; bottom right, de durazno; arriba, de manzana.
Cocineros en accíon. I have great respect and admiration for the hard working crew of these restaurants, both in the dining room and in the kitchen.
Omelet making. One of the special treats that we enjoyed this time were shrimp and spinach omeletas.
