Looking over Trail Pass or Cottonwood Pass. Not sure anymore.
Looking over Cottonwood Pass.
Chicken Spring Lake. This was the first real High Sierra lake I saw on the trail.
Rock Creek
Evening view from Tyndall Creek.
Hiking toward Forester Pass
Forester Pass is actually the small notch on the left, not the broad one on the right.
Me on top of Forester Pass
I think this was Arrowhead Lake, which is below Glenn Pass and the Rae Lakes.
Bridge over Woods Creek. The bridge bounced as you walked across.
View from Pinchot Pass
View from Pinchot Pass. I hiked this pass all alone. It wasn't as bad as other passes, but being alone it felt as bad.
Grouse Meadow
This picture didn't come out well at all. This was all purple lupine.
More flowery meadows. I liked the flowery meadows better than the passes.
Frothing creek. I think this is the Middle Fork of the Kings River, but I may be wrong.
Crossing on a bridge. I often wondered why some creeks got bridges and others that were potentially fatal did not.
Here's where I left the trail to go home.
Climbing toward Bishop Pass and Dusy Basin
Amazing creek spilling in a great frothy sheet down a steep slab of granite. It fell like this for hundreds and hundreds of feet.
Dusy Basin
Meadow in Dusy Basin
I wondered if any of those notches were Bishop Pass. Gratefully they weren't.
