Just past Interstate 10 is this junk yard you have to walk through. The desert can be an odd place.
The climb up Teutang Canyon
And now the climb back down again unfolds below me.
My tent near Mission Creek.
Mission Creek
I think these are some kind of bladder pods. They're really beautiful.
Walking up Mission Creek was arduous but gratefully there was all the water you could drink.
I pushed myself to hike 26 miles because I really really wanted to go to Big Bear and rest at the hostel. When I reached the highway hikers were having a party!
My one and only beer for the night. I sat myself down in a chair and couldn't get back up.
I'm back on the trail now after a zero day in Big Bear. I came across this shelter someone had made.
I was naughty and instead of taking the detour to avoid this burn area, I continued on the closed trail.
There was no water on the roadwalk. There was nice water on the trail and the trail was in great condition.

Bridge over Deep Creek
Deep Creek. The trail stayed way above it like this on a lovely 103 degree day.

Silverwood Lake, a resevoir
