Movers and Shakers - Dr. Russell Chew
Dr. Russell Chew, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the FAA discussed his ideas on "The Business of Government" and his experiences first as a pilot of 767s for American Airlines, then as an airline executive and finally now in his current position. Dr. Chew was selected in June 2003 by Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta to be the COO and, in response to Congressional and White House direction, bring performance-based business practices to the management of the air traffic control system. He holds a doctorate degree from USC.
