Our house is the one on the right. This roof slope is to become a giant dormer window
The location of the new dormer, which will be clad in matching UPVC cladding.
Inside the loft, there's lots of stuff to re-house
There are also header tanks for the water and heating
Lots of junk - even furniture we have not home for currently
Ridge of the front part of the loft. This is much lower than the main roof and we won't even get 2 m out of this part
Those header tanks again. We're going to get a combination boiler so that we can de-commission these.
What a mess!
The stair-well. We'll have another flight over the right hand side of this.
Looking down on the stairwell
How it looks at the front. This view shouldn't change - except we're going to change the porch and front door which are rotten.
There will be a couple of Velux windows visible here eventually.
This view won't change either
Current access to the loft.
Back of the house just before the scafolders arrived
Original stairs
All that junk has been re-housed now
Tanks now removed.
This bit will be our study.
The party wall
This is where our new bathroom will be.
The stairs will come up on the left of this picture
That's the low ridge. The vertical pole will be removed and support provided by a steel beam on the right of the high ridge.
Look - no water tanks!
This slope will be removed and turned into a dormer.
Another view of the bathroom.
Where the main bedroom will be.
This little corner will be eaves storage cupboards
Here's the stairs and landing.
And that bathroom again
The eaves cupboards again
Look how poorly the original build was finished.
You can actually see right through to next door's loft
Looking up from the bottom step. The new stairs will go above here.
The loft hatch - something we won't be needing any longer.
