War Crime Times Inaguration 1.17.2009
On January 17, 2009 'Veterans for Peace', their friends and associates held a planned demonstration at the Newseum, a 250,000 square-foot, seven-story News centered museum in Washington D.C. At precisely 11:30 a.m. a banner was dropped inside from the second floor which read ARREST BUSH & CHENEY: WAR CRIMINALS; Corporate Media–Partners in Crime. At that exact moment a unique newspaper was being unveiled and distributed to the public -- "War Crimes Times" published by Veterans for Peace.
The exterior of the Newseum includes a 74-foot-high marble engraving of the First Amendment. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
