Gerard fixing hotel for someone while Jim is fixing his just before Leigh noticed she had one too.
Here's Jim making sure his is holding air.
And the Gerard went on to fix Leigh's flat. Wet roads to make all that road debri we were on recently stick again. Leigh said she had picked out 10 pieces of glass from here tire one stop.
A section of the Erie Canal which we paralleled much of the day.
Not sure why I took a picture of geese, given the nuisance they are in Columbus. I suppose because I am getting nostalgic for about anything Columbus.
More Erie Canal
I'll take the bike over the canal any day.
This was an unual side of the road sighting!
The view when I'm drafting Jim. He's a great wheel to follow in the wet because his fenders catch all the spray.
Field of beautiful flowers
What a gorgeous, crisply cut and stacked score of cords.
Look at ALL THAT WOOD!!!
Met Les today from Hartford who is riding from Buffalo to Hartford. Very interesting guy who's biked in the Yucatan and spent two years in Camaroon in the Peace Corps. He teaches 6th grad math at a Hartford Magnet School and loves the kids. Need more like him!
Train in the east after all the western trains.
Gray everywhere today -- the sky, the water and bridge between the two.
Our spread this evening at the Hotel
Dave and Gordon who are also traveling cross country from Wash State to Portsmouth NH. They have been on the 38 days averaging about 75 miles per day. They hit rain in NY just as we did. They are going self contained. One flat each. Amazing!!! They met when Dave was redoing Gordon's bathroom and the two decided if they could survive that they could survive a xcountry bike trip.
