The luchador featured in the video is called El Elegido (the chosen one). The fact that he is reported to have lived a previous life as a Chippendale dancer is substantiated from his outfit and his dance style. Before the evening was out he ended up mooning the entire audience to the cheers of the 5-10 year old fans.
One of our classmates, named Heather, dubbed this luchador naranhote (naran for his orange pants, hot e to express her evaluation). HIs mask has an aztec look to it.
Our spanish teacher refers to this intermission entertainment as “pobres mjueres” because the dancers obviously can not afford to buy much in the way of clothes.
This is an image of a promotional poster that I captured from the promoter's web site
These are the three least likely lucha libre fans I can imagine.. Maureen (left) talked (or balckmailed, depending on who you ask) her two friends into going with her to lucha libre. Sandy (center) kept saying “I cant believe I'm doing this” and Sharon (right) seemed to be coping with the realization that there werent enough straight jackets in La Paz to deal with this crowd. IT seems that Lucha LIbre has not reached Iowa yet.
