18 Aug 2008 - Guys Fishing

While Mom had to work at the office, Mel took Jack and Kyle fishing of the pier in Mt. Pleasant. The guys claim to have caught around 20 fish. They say they through them all back. (Likely story!) Congrats to Jack who made the first catch on this day.

Since the boys will not be with us in December for Christmas, we celebrated some Christmas traditions in July! Here, we decorated Christmas sugar cookies with the kids at Nonna's house. They are delicious no matter if eaten in Christmas in July or Christmas in December!

27 June 08- 2nd Chance Prom

Mel and Cris finally attend the Prom- TOGETHER! Since this event was rescheduled from June 20th, it was even more special to us. Thanks to Jim and Helen for sharing this night with us and for some pre-Prom photos. Thanks to Brad and Jennifer for the tie and dress, respectively. Thanks to Katrina for the earrings. Thanks to Carol for the corsage and boutonnière. Thanks to J for the 82 Queens Gift Certificate!!! At the Prom we enjoyed the band Hot Sauce and loads of dancing before we got exhausted. What a great night!!

20 June 08- Almost Prom

Local radio station 95SX sponsored the "2nd Chance Prom" for those of us 21 and older. A horrible rain hit that night and since the venue was downtown, the event was rescheduled for the following Friday. We were already dressed and ready to go, so we took a few photos and the Breens treated us for dinner. After dinner, we walked around the Battery and then stopped by Krispy Kreme for just one more photo!

Whenever Kollin has business on our side of town, we go to Sojourn in the morning for breakfast. It started as a little intimate breakfast with just Cris and Kollin, but Dan and Mel got so jealous that they had to join us. And so our Sojourn breakfasts are now a very tasty tradition!

The famous Cathedral of St. John the Baptist was the site for the Sacred Chrism Mass. As we still have no bishop appointed to our Diocese, retired bishop Most Rev. David B. Thomas was gracious and celebrated Mass for us.

Mel took the kids (even the furry one!) fishing at Folly Beach while Cris was working. The highlights of the trip were Jack catching 4 crabs, Kyle catching a shark, and Quinn almost falling into the water. After fishing and a light lunch, they "relaxed" in the pool.

Charleston Grill

Mickey Bakts, General Manager of the Charleston Grill, invited us to dinner as his guests. This was Jack & Kyle's first time at the Grill and Mickey treated us all wonderfully! He started by letting letting the boys pick their choice of treat from the Godiva store across the hall, and then we were treated to the best drinks, dinner, and desserts. Jack even learned some napkin folding techniques and took some photos. What a perfect ending to celebrate Kyle's graduation day!

For our first trip together to Savannah, GA, we ate dinner at Paula Dean's The Lady & Sons restaurants and then saw the greatest performance ever by Harry Connick, Jr. and band at the John Mercer Theater.
