Mostly under the roof at Black Bear Inn, Drummond WI
My broiled Polluck was fantastic
Sno Jacks Bar Stool Races
Early Saturday morning, getting ready to pack up and leave
Day 2 on the TWT, just outside of Drummond, WI
Someone (Randy?) mentioned that Horse Grade was his favorite part and I can see why. The day started out dry, then rain appeared mid-morning.
The Delta-Drummond road was being tuned up and the detour followed this section of the TWT
Finally, open doors at Delta Diner. My provolone, asparagus, black olive omelet was wonderful. Todd says “hello Randy”. A very warm, inviting and friendly place to eat. Thanks to Todd, Elena and crew.
US Highway 2
North of highway 2
The front coming through from the north, stronger winds pulling moisture off from Lake Superior
A forest of birches unsuitable for swinging
Another trail crossing, places I was very cautious about approaching. ATV's in wet sand were able to go a lot faster than I could.
This road wasn't part of the route.
Now it was raining. Mastering Rut Control was crucial. Shiny roads be done.
This is an intersection I know very well. State 13, just west of Cornucopia.
So that's where that road goes.
Downtown Corny, the Township Road maintenance shop in the center, ample snowmobile parking available
Fish Lipps bar/restaurant and the Post Office. I stood under the awning for awhile to avoid some drops.
Ehlers Store, remodeled inside from days of old.
On the Corny beach, just behind Halvorson's Fisheries
Winds off the lake
West towards the breakwater
Looking east
Gramp-in-law's retired fishing boat and another Coopdway bike in front of the boat
The Town Artesian Well
The Siskiwit Picnic Shelter
Not sure what story these shoes and blanket tell since I was the only one on the beach
My freshly filled water bottle
Almost on Wisconsin's northernmost road, but not quite.
Blueberry Road on the Red Cliff Reservation. The last time I was on this road was with the ST2 two Halloween's ago. Saturday was definitely more of a TW200 day.
Here we go, Point Detour
Nowhere further north to go
I was very nearly approaching my limit of shiny roads for the weekend.
In the Point Detour Campground. I was surprised to see 6-7 campsites taken. The caretaker soon came over and asked if I was in need of a site. He mentioned that it had been a busy summer for motorcycles. “A Milwaukee club has some kind of ride that starts down on the Illinois border and ends up here” I was told.
I didn't go look for The Chair since it was most likely in someone's campsite. I wanted to though and was disappointed that I couldn't.
The caretaker and his dogs headed off to split some wood for one of the campers.
In the campground, just west of the road.
All of the stats since starting out in Neillsville the day before.
What I must have looked like to the Lions, Tigers and Bears.
