Fiberglassed wheelhouse, no cabintop. The entire wheelhouse is built out of nidacore, a plywood substitute that is much lighter and impervious to water migration.
Open staircase from the main cabin to the lower area. Lights will be added to illuminate the stairwell at night.
Structurally completed wheelhouse, all the window cut in. The square to the left will be the future home of a Diamond Seaglaze sliding door. Most of the sanding at this stage has been completed.
Boom, windows, doors, gel coat, horn, port lights, running lights........ Very impressive.
All this wiring will be hidden under the head liner. Each wire has to be run individually because there is only 1/2" of space under the headliner. These wires will run power to dome lights, deck lights, and speakers.
The fly bridge is almost completed, non-skid has been rolled on the top of the cabin to provide traction. Engine controls, Electronics, VHF, and Auto pilot will be installed in the center of the dashboard.
The spotlight will not be installed in the galley. Here the fridge and stove have been installed. A deep sink lives to the right of the stove and will be fitted with a removable cutting board top.
Custom cherry cabinet doors built at CIBW. Behind the doors live all the boat wiring
Two more cabinets under the forward sleeping area.
Two cherry doors built by Hewes & Company, I could have built them but they wouldn't have turned out nearly as awesome.
Main steering station. Bronze hardware for the throttle and shifting controls (and helm plate). Custom engine panel made from aluminum and powder coated.
Starboard side door complete with CIBW sticker. This door was a must have so the owner would be able to dock the boat by himself.
Test-launch, we wanted to get the waterline correct and it gave us an opportunity to check for leaks around the underwater hardware (none found).
Bimini top made by Fortune Inc. The owner picked the color. This has the ability to be folded down.
Lower cabin area, cushions made by Fortune Inc. Custom cherry table (not pictured) built by CIBW will live between these two seats.
Main cabin area, cushions made by Fortune Inc. Another custom cherry table (not pictured) can be lowered to make another sleeping area. The back cushions can be removed and put on the table to make a large mattress.
Couch (??) in the lower sleeping area. Speakers in the bench are tied into the main stereo.
Mattress also made by Fortune Inc, 8" thick for maximum comfort. The area was patterned and the trapezoid mattress was made to fit perfectly.
Overhead head liner is done, cherry strips of wood hide all the seams. The dome lights are on cherry circles to space them down (and give me space for a service loop of wire).
Close up of the custom engine gauge panel. This will inform the user of engine RPM's, Oil pressure, Engine temp, Etc.....
Completed boat, ready for a long trip to central New York.
One of our better projects, the owner was a pleasure to work with. I made a trip to NY after the first season and the boat is the most attractive boat in the marina (I may be biased).
