Toronto Wintercity Festival 2008
Scenes from a walk-about date in January 2008. The RBC Royal Bank sponsors this Wintercity Festival at Nathan Phillips Square, in the lee of both the old and new Toronto City Halls. Thousands of clay pots are on fire around the square, along with other fire devices that are manned by a number of people. As a tourist in Toronto, this was an interesting event to visit, though one hopes that the live entertainment and other acts that apear later in the Winter city festival draw larger crowds.
It was interesting to see all the people skating on the rink - most of them are ghosts in the rink shots, due to the long exposure times.
