The beer olympics got off to a slow start, due to heavy rain and small numbers.
So the athletes gathered under the leaky tents and tried to stay warm.
for some reason the down pour isn't showing up in the picture...
some late arrivals join the ranks.
Finally Eli announces the opening games!
the olympic torch is lit! And now we take a victory lap around the field as we pass the torch down the line.
the 4 teams get ready to catch at the end of the balloon toss. We had to chug a beer at the beginning.
balloon toss
Marion brings it home in the spatula relay. (one lap around the field while balancing a beer on a spatula)
Now the winner takes her prize. BBQ!
so tasty...
Sukie begs for one more hamburger.
It was someone's bright idea to play tug-o-war... against a tree...
in between games we play a bit of wiffle ball.
Sukie documents the pitch.
What a beautiful dog! There were a lot of dogs here. They were all very friendly. :)
Sukie waits for the pitch.
Swing batta! Swing!
Fletcher got it.
still trying to win against the tree.
And so a new event was created. Tight rope walking.
hula hoop!
go sukie! go!
Chad steals the hoop so sukie wanders off to get more beer.
Watch how the hobbit walks nonchalantly up to the food table and stuffs his pockets.
Did anyone see me?
Now Chad has a beer. The hula is complete.
And he wants more! So he attempts to hula over to the keg.
Tight rope walking is hard.
Mark fills up his beer in the blind keg run.
And tries to make it back to his team.
we discuss how to make it over the couch.
I tried my hardest...
But I just couldn't do it right.
So my team mate, Megan, DQed me.
Its for the best really. That couch was nasty.
and so, we wait for the couch jump to begin.
The judges take note of how much beer is in the cup before the jump.
more attempts at tight rope walking.
I believe Megan was the record holder.
But at the last second, Julie took the gold.
