In between Wind Rivers hikes, I spent a couple of nights at a campground in the Tetons. This is the Tetons.
Tetons
A couple of miles into the Cirque hike we saw a badger.
Along the Big Sandy Trail, an amazing meadow.
First camp, at cut-off to V Lake. We'd started hiking at 3pm, so were happy with progress.
Big Sandy Lake
Above Big Sandy - a park-like area above the switchbacks.
The "trail" to Jackass Pass.
Along the trail
Warbonnet
Mike is on the trail.
North Lake
On the trail
From my tent, high up toward Jackass Pass. Very windy night coming.
Up, up, up - to the Cirque of the Towers
The Cirque
Arrowhead Lake - closer to the Cirque
Jackass Pass on the Continental Divide - it's downhill from here (into another bunch of boulders, of course).
Lonesome Lake below, Pingora Peak above to left.
Filtered water from this lovely little stream.
Pingora, Wolf's Head to left (?)
Cirque - Shark's Nose and Pylon, I think.
First campsite in the Cirque, near Hidden Lake (which did remain hidden to us).
Left to right: Warrior 1, Warbonnet
Bear scat probably
Lonesome Lake outlet into Lizard Head Meadows
In a pretty little basin near the biggest rock in the world - near where we camped.
Second campsite in the Cirque - above Lizard Head Meadows
Lonesome Lake
Mike caught three trout.
Cutthroat swimming close in at Lonesome Lake.
Moose print near our 2nd campsite.
Morning in the Cirque
Moose across the lake.
Mitchell Peak - named after Finis Mitchell.
Here's to you, WL. From left to right: wet wipes, dry wipes, hand sanitizer, trowel.
On the way out we saw more moose
Jackass Pass
Jackass Pass - headed back over the Continental Divide.
A happy man - at the pass, going back across the Continental Divide
12' up, too high for bears.
Chipmunk at our last campsite, just above Big Sandy Lake.
Last campsite.
On the way out, hiking alongside the Big Sandy River & meadows.
Big Sandy River - Goodby to the Winds.
Goodby to the Cirque of the Towers
