Equator. Here we stopped and saw a demonstration about how the water flows on the northern half of the equator, the southern half of the equator and right in the middle. On the northern half of the equator the water flows counterclockwise. On the southern half of the equator the water flows clockwise. And right at the equater it flows straight down.

The fish Noel bought for dinner. Tying the fish to the windshield wiper and then driving is the way Noel, our cook, dried out the fish.

Kibale National Park Chimp trek. We have to have all of our clothes tucked in because on the trek through the forest termites would crall up our clothes. They are almost impossible to get off once they get on you...You'd have to take off all your clothes and pick them off.

Rafting the Nile River - What an adventure!!!!
When we went down the 2nd rapid, Satcha hit his eyebrow with the paddle. He started bleeding like crazy.
Floating down the river. Relaxing in the water. (and still smiling!!!)
Rafting the Nile River
Rafting the Nile River. Here we're going down "THE RAPID". There are two drops of about 2 meters each. We had to hit a spot on the flat after the first fall to go down the second fall without tipping. But, we didn't hit it and tipped. We were dragged on the flat part through rocks getting hit at all times. Satcha was being dragged underwater under the tipped raft and couldn't breath. Christine was hanging on to the outside of the raft when we went down the second fall, again crashing into rocks.
Our tipped raft and the guides are looking for all of us
Christine's big toenail of her left toe bent in half. It was bleeding and hurt like crazy. The guide had to bend it back into place.
Christine went on the safety boat. The rest of the people in the raft had to continue. The guides wouldn't let them stop.
Satcha's cut eyebrow and Christine's black eye. This was not a fun rafting trip at all. We actually thought that this was the end of us....Christine will NEVER raft again!

Masai Mara. The engine of the truck flooded and we got stuck in this water as we tried to cross it in search of rhinos.
We were stuck inside of the truck for about 5 hours. We weren't able to leave the truck because there were wild animals around, like you can see in this picture the lion that came to watch us.
Masai Mara stuck in water
Finally 3 rangers came to pick us up in their 4x4s and take us back to the campsite. We had to leave all our stuff and walk through the water, which was pretty deep, balancing on rocks, being careful not to fall. The water was really cold and supposedly there were also snakes in it.

With the truck still stuck in the water we had to take this mini-bus traveling to the border of Kenya-Tanzania. The saying on the bus is definitely true: "No Hurry in Africa"

Serengeti Campsite. This is a private campsite for the travel agency we went with. These were permanent tents that had 2 cots, a toilet and shower. There was no running water. The shower consisted of a hanging bag that was filled every night with warm water. Christine took a shower one night under the stars of the Serengeti. It was beautiful!
