I thought the big Epcot ball was just decorative. Turns out there's actually a ride in there: Spaceship Earth, which goes through the history (and future) of communication.
Some of the pictures inside Spaceship Earth. Roman times...
Middle Ages...
The era of radio...
Steve and I thought this was really funky :-)...
At the start of the ride, a picture is taken of you in the car. At the end of the ride, you were asked questions on the screen about the kind of vacation you liked, where you wanted to live, things like that.
...And this is the actual video we saw after we answered all the questions :-).
My Disney World cap.
Another picture of the UK Pavilion. This is a store, and inside...
...Pooh and Tigger and Eeyore were there! Naturally I had to get my picture taken. I wish I had taken pictures of the little girl ahead of me in line. She was probably no older than 3. One of her arms was in a little pink cast. Pooh had to squat down to say hello to her and she just hugged him, and they held each other quietly for the LONGEST time, like he was her dream come true. It was the sweetest thing you ever saw. When her parents tried to pull her away so other people had a chance to get a picture taken, she cried such a sad cry it broke your heart.
At the France Pavilion. 1 chair on bottles...
Two chairs...
Three chairs...
Four chairs...
Five chairs!
At the USA Pavilion.
A close up shot of the Fife and Drum men.
This was at the Germany Pavilion.
The Chinese Pavilion...
Inside the museum in the Chinese Pavilion
Recreation of the terracotta warriors
Chinese acrobats
This was in the Norway Pavilion. Steve said when I saw the troll and said, "Level 35 Elite!" a few guys looked back at me, probably recognizing that I was talking World-of-Warcraft speak :-).
More pictures with the troll
Yeah, blond hair won't work for me :-).
Watcha lookin' at?
Donald! In his Three Caballeros costume! I LOVED the Three Caballeros movie. This was in the Mexico Pavilion :-).
While the characters can't talk, they can kiss. You hear an audible <SMOOCH> when they kiss you :-).
Another shot
Another shot of the lake in the middle of Epcot. This was definitely the best part of Disney World. But then I think kids would probably enjoy Epcot less than grownups--not too many rides :-). Steve said going to Epcot was like "traveling without traveling."
