Austin Catalina Fleet 69: Founded in 1977
Charles and Pat were our hosts
We have 13 photo albums, dating back to 1983. Older ones were lost in the Sailboat Shop fire in 1985.
26 members attended (3 left before we got this photo) Some joined in 1980 and are still in the fleet!
We were happy to see Steve and Jane, who sold their boat years ago and were active cruisers and racers on Trivial Pursuit!
Robert and Shiela
Norma made the won-tons !
Ray and Annette
John and Kathi looked at one of the oldest albums (looks like pictures of the upside down margarita cruise)
Bob and John. Aloha!

Ray, Annette, Karen, Bob, John, Kathi
Keith has been sailing for over 50 years!
Martin and Jane, co-owners of JJ
Commodore Sheila
Kathi and John fixed up a lonely unused Catalina 27. Cool Change!
Annette had many memorable moments on C270 Afternoon Delight. I remember the running aground in 2000 the most!
Bob and Karen started with a Capri 14 and moved up to C22 Siddartha.
Jane and Steve told stories of racing days and entertaining cruises
John and Joyce, and tales of Connemara
Martin and Jane, co-owners of JJ, told us how they “won” the blooper award for “Row this way or that!”
We loved hearing the stories! I scanned in many pages of old photo albums, cropped them, and put them on CD, so we could see them on TV.
Keith and Sue. Their C27 Sweet Sue has seen 17 Turnback Canyon Regattas!
Keith and Sue. Nice picture too.
Sue told us of sailing in the beautiful waters of the British Virgin Islands and of the friendships we have all gained thru this fleet.
Clay described the flapping sails during a very windy trip back from an Arkansas Bend cruise
We all enjoyed reminiscing!
Phyllis told us of the origins of the Ladies' Sail Day. No Yellin' Allowed! She also explained kinetic, visual, and audio learning (good story)
Elaine and Hal remembered sailing on Flying Cloud, and a trip to the BVIs, and how eggs disappeared!
Charles told us the tale of a soggy trip up the lake, and why they got a bigger boat!
Charles wore the 1990 fleet shirt, designed by Irma Stough
Elaine wore a shirt painted by Irma Stough
Cheryl (me) cut the Cake. We've been members of the fleet for many years, and thoroughly enjoy the comaraderie.
Happy Birthday to Catalina Fleet 69! May you have many, many more!
