2009 Road Trip

Rennie & Anne drove to Big Sur California to meet their newest granddaughter, Tala, and then did a 5300 mile road trip from California to Minnesota and back in the summer of 2009. Lax Lake Minnesota and Isle Royale National park in Lake Superior were the most distant destinations.

The New Volvo Engine

Cassiopeia's old engine was 25 years old in the spring of 2003, so it was time for a change. The installation of her brand new 200hp Volvo TAMD41p was a little tricky...it was a tight fit through the hatch and we could only get close enough to the crain for a few hours at high tide.

Cassiopeia Goes To Hollywood

Chosen to star in the major blockbuster production from Universal Pictures "Along Came Polly"....Cassiopeia meets Hollywood. That sounds good, doesn't it? Actually Cassiopeia has just a small part in the movie that only took 9 days of filming...but we had a blast doing it!

Two Harbors, Catalina, 2003

"26 miles across the sea, Santa Catalina is awaitin' for me." Who sang that song? Two Harbors, or the Isthmus as it's affectionately known by west coast sailors, is a world away from the bustle of southern California.

Baja Bash, 2002

The trip from Cabo San Lucas to San Diego is usually upwind and against the current for 800 miles along the starkly beautiful but desolate Baja peninsula. California sailors call this trip the "Baja Bash"...and it's usually not fun. You can see a satellite image of the Baja Peninsula by clicking on "Weather@Cassiopeia" in the upper right corner of our home page. Baja HaHa, 2003

This was the third Baja HaHa for Rennie & Anne and the second for Cassiopeia's other crewmembers Greg & Cherie, Dustin & Jean and of course Dave, our crew bon-vivant and, this year, the leader of the band at the Bahia Santa Maria beach party. Each year we've sailed this 800 mile, 130 boat ralley we think it's impossible to have more fun...and each year we out-do the previous years. And this year...to top it off...Cassiopeia won the big boat division! Here are a few pictures of Baja HaHa 2003 crazyness. Rennie & Anne's Wedding Pictures

We eloped in Las Vegas on June 17, 2006 after being together for 13 years. We didn't want a high stress wedding so Vegas worked for us. Since it was just the two of us, we didn't get a lot of wedding pictures. But, our friends at The Burningman Yacht Club more than made up for it by setting up this better-late-than-never, costumed photo op at the Burningman Festival in the Black Rock desert a few months after our wedding...although it was 114 degrees in the shade when these shots were taken so some costumes are a little more formal than others.
