The view from one of our bedroom windows. This is our local mountain, Sierra de Las Mitras. It's Amy's personal favorite of all the mountains in Monterrey.
Our little house. Humble-looking from the outside, but we love it. Parked in the driveway is the gigantic Chevy Cheyenne that Carlos' dad has been lending us.
Looking down our street.
Another view of the neighborhood from across the street.
Out on the boulevard (Avenida Real Cumbres) outside our neighborhood. This is taken from the middle, where there is a great little hiking/biking path.
Looking downhill a short distance...H-E-B, where we can buy basically anything we could ever need.
Looking downhill - there's a valley and then this mountain, Cerro del Topo. Carlos' brother Daniel lives on the other side.
looking back uphill
A common sight here - construction. Pretty much the whole area is just starting to be built.
Walking up the path again.
Amy enjoying being sleeveless on November 21, 2007. (Very exciting for a Chicagoan)
It looks like we're in the middle of the desert, but we're actually just up Avenida Real Cumbres. Carlos is gazing off toward some mountain we don't even know the name of...

Sun setting behind Sierra de las Mitras
Amy poses with Monterrey's signature mountain, Cerro de la Silla (The Seat Mountain) in the background.

Getting closer to the Sierra de las Mitras.
Amy's school (Carlos was driving at this point, sorry about the blur)
Amy's school again
continuing on the boulevard...
This is the view near the highest end of the residential part of the mountain
