ADG's float for the 1961 Homecoming Parade. The parade started on what was Brookland Avenue, in front of Ryan and Regan Halls, go out onto Michigan Avenue, up to 12 St and back to the University. The parade then went into the old football stadium from Brookland Avenue. The float had problems making some of the turns, around the field and back out to dispersal.
This paddle was a prop for the Alphadelt's campaign to have their sweetheart, Rita, elected Homecoming Queen. Unfortunately, while Rita was "the bee's knees," she did not win.

Photo was taken at a smoker, and the trophy in the background was given by Nationals to Kappa for having the best academic performance (highest GPA). The trophy was probably given at the national convention in New Orleans in 1964. Back left standing is Brother Ralph Deger and next to him, with the trophy, is Brother Chuck O'Connor.
