Here's me cracking an egg for homemade mayonnaise! Notice my disproportionately large arm. I promise it's just the picture.
Chopping onions for ceviche.
Here's a very unappetizing look at Causa Rellena. It's made by making a wrapping of mashed potatoes and aji amarrillo (the chili that is in almost every single peruvian dish), then filling it with chicken, veggies, mayo, cheese and whatever else you want. At the end we painted it with mayo, then dropped grated boiled egg on top. I had to laugh at the finished product. But don't be fooled by appearances. It's quite tasty!
This is ceviche. Notice the large portion of raw fish on the left of the plate (covered in onions). This was obviously someone else's plate.
This is my plate of ceviche. Notive the 3 pieces of raw fish near the bottom of the plate. I couldn't even finish that much. The corn looking stuff is called choclo. They use it in almost everything. The first time I tried it I thought it was nasty, but after eating ceviche it tasted quite good!
This is what I look like when I'm about to throw up, ie. when I just ate my first bite of ceviche.
This one's a bit dark, but hopefully you can still see everyone. From left to right is Mapi (one of my teachers), me, Lari (who taught the class), Jessica (also from Calgary), and Justin (one of my classmates).
