On 16 February 2009, we went on a 13 day holiday to New Zealand. Originally we were going over for my cousin Aran's wedding, in Auckland, but we decided to go over before to Christchurch, Mt Cook, Wanaka & Queenstown. These photos don't really do justice to just how beautiful New Zealand is!

Dylan James Blackmore, born 23/11/2007 (16 days early), 4:36pm, 8 pound 2 ounces. This is my twin brother's, Kestrel, first child and the first boy grandchild to our family and the first grandchild to the Healeys (Skye's side). We're all very excited!!

Cairns & Port Douglas 2005

Our annual yearly holiday saw us deciding to stay in Australia this time. Queensland, a state on the north eastern side of Australia, has some lovely holiday locations so off we went. Cairns is a beautiful town and while it reportly has a population of some 120 thousand people, it feels quite abit smaller than that. Its main economies seem to be: sugar cane farming & tourism. We stayed here 4 nights and we quite impressed with our accomation, the Cairns Lakes Resort. We then stayed 7 nights at the Sheraton Port Douglas.

Gabby's Graduation

On 6th of April 2005, my wife Gabby graduated with a Diploma of Management from Deakin University. It had taken her 4 years (2 subjects a year) due to working full time while studying. Congrats Gab!

Malaysia 2004

After leaving Singapore we arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Here we spent 3 nights at the Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel and 2 nights at the Federal Hotel (which Muhammed Ali had stayed in). Overall impressions of Kuala Lumpur was that it was a pretty typical Asian city (crowded, dirty & having its fair share of poverty). It's airport is located roughly 70kms from the city due to air pollution! From Kuala Lumpur we flew up to Penang and spent the remaining 11 nights of our 3 week holiday there at the Grand Plaza Park Royal Hotel (phew!). Penang was very nice and when we weren't working on our sun tans, we were either visiting George Towns shopping malls or browsing the local night markets.

We left for Singapore on the 14th of October and came back to Australia (from Malaysia, see Malaysia 2004 album too) on the 4th of November - was a great 3 weeks and my wife is already organising our next trip!

Our family had a big reunion back in New Zealand for Christmas 2003. We took off up to the Bay of Islands just before Christmas and then headed down to Rotorua after Christmas.

For our 4th wedding anniversary, my wife surprised me with a trip to Sydney. As we were heading to the airport I was "Ummm, I'm going to be late for work". Of course, she'd already organised it with my work - a great surprise.

Thailand 2002

October 2002 we head off the Bangkok & Phuket, Thailand. It was abit of an eye opener in regards to the poverty of some Asian nations, but despite that the Thai people are very friendly. Great trip so long as you can look past the poverty.
